My name is Michael Jansen. I'm 35 years old and a freelance config manager/developer from germany.
You can find my homepage at http://michael-jansen.biz . Only posts related to kde will be syndicated here.
I started contributing to kde in January 2008. That's pretty lame because i wanted to do that for some years. Developing is some kind of hobby for me since my real life jobs started to be more configuration management related.
Khotkeys and shortcuts - both global and local - will be the main issues i will write, ask or babble about in my blog, because that's where i work currently in kde.
As a last word let me say that i'm pretty impressed by all of you. I was welcomed warmly and people were very helpful and willing to share their knowledge and expertise with me. I absolutely love what the kde project achieved with kde4. And i'm excited about the future.
I want to specially thank david for the many useful hints he had and for more than once catching my ... not so perfect ... commits before they could harm anyone. No idea how you do that but great work.
That's for now
Mike

Long answer: Software
Long answer: Software Configuration Management Definition on Wikipedia
Short answer: I'm the one juggeling with branches.
Together with project management and developers i decide what has to get a own branch because of time constraints (has to be released in time whatever happens) or complexityy (is so complex we can't say when it is finished). The corporate world isn't as relaxed as kde when it comes to release schedules. I the keep track of the branches and manage the rebasing and merging. Support developers, define what software has to be developed independently and monitor dependencies.
Last but not least i work together with release management to make sure they are informed which release dates are safe and which will fail and that their schedule is reflected in our development cycle.
Sometimes build managements is also my responsibility.
The exact definition depends on the contract and the project culture
